Digital Notice And Awareness System Allows Drone Pilots To Notify Airports Of Flights





” Considered taking out that new drone for a spin? You may want to log in to your local airport’s website first.

  Two small South Jersey airports have been selected to participate in a pilot program in which drone operators can alert airports with digital information regarding the location of their flights, according to the Delaware River and Bay Authority.

  The Cape May Airport in Lower Township and the Millville Airport will partner with AirMap, an airspace information company, to monitor drones that fly near the two airports.

  The Digital Notice and Awareness System will allow UAS, or drone operators, to provided their information to the airports online.

  The system on the websites looks much like a radar scan with blips that represent drones in the area.”
