” In some rural areas, people can be left waiting hours for emergency support. But a new drone ambulance has been designed that could dramatically cut wait times and save lives.

  The drone concept does not need a pilot, and is small enough to easily land on a street, unlike large helicopter ambulances. The drone has been designed by Argodesign, a company based in Austin, Texas.”

While ambulance response times in big cities are usually fairly low, in rural areas, people can be left waiting hours for emergency support. But a new drone ambulance has been designed that could dramatically cut wait times

” Mark Rolston, founder of the firm. said: ‘Obviously, it’s not a thoroughly vetted concept, but I think it’s extremely intriguing where drones might show up.

‘It would be nice to see them used this way, rather than another military function or more photography.’ The drone is modelled on a standard quadcopter, and is driven by GPS, a pilot, or a combination of both.

  It could quickly be sent to an emergency, where it would dispatch its emergency medical technician (EMT) to provide help, before flying the patient to hospital. “
